For FlashChat v4.7.11 & SMF 1.1.2:

I found that the default installation was displaying my name as 'admin' rather than my board-friendly name of 'Tim Antley' in the chatroom listing. Because of the differences in the two, a slight degree of confusion could result if members were expecting names as displayed by the 'who' action.

By modifying the file /inc/cmses/SMFCMS2.php (changing the three instances on lines 31, 32, and 34 of 'memberName' to 'realName'), the FlashChat now lists chatroom members by the name that appears on the board.

For future reference...    8)

Awesome :coolsmiley:. I've been wanting to do this but never got around to asking or anything so thanks. :up:

Slight issue with the above mod; spaces between names yield problems with room actions.

Will put on 'to-do' list to implement an underscore after determining the name...  just can't do it right now.

You would think that adding this to the first part of the function 'login' in 'smfCMS2.php' to:
$login = str_replace(" ", "_", $login);
would change the login name accordingly; however, it does nothing.

Seems that FC is not using this particular function, possibly from user being logged in through SMF already...

Out of time for tonight...
